# How to do Trigonometry step by step?

Top

Let’s know about the term Trigonometry: It is the most important topic of mathematics. Firstly question arises how to do trigonometry step by step?

Trigonometry word has been raised from the Greek word which has meaning of "3-sided measure" and it is the branch of mathematics in which we study of the relationships between sides and angles of a triangle. For understanding the trigonometry we have to know firstly about the trigonometry Functions:

Firstly, we have to label one angle in the triangle which is other than the Right Angle and for marking of this we use an English letter like X.

After this we will measure the side which is opposite to the angle and the length of the line section which is connecting angle X to the other non-right angle. After doing the above process, we will measure the length of the side which is connecting X angle to the right angle. In fourth step we have to divide the side length of opposite angle X to the side adjacent angle X.

A trigonometric equation is one of the mathematical equations that engage one or all of the six functions sin, cos, tan, cot, sec, and cosec.

Dear students, now we will discuss that how trigonometric equation can be done in five steps.

In first step we will see all probable Numbers that could be substituted for the values in the equation to make it true.

In second step, we will solve for the value of function.

After calculating the value of function in third step we will solve for the angle.

Fourth step is very important step after solving the angle. In this step we will measure for the variable.

Finally in fifth step we will use any restriction if it is given. If no restriction is given we will give all solutions which have been given in fourth step.

After knowing about these five steps we can easily solve any trigonometry equation accurately so don't feel afraid about a trigonometry equation.

Now, let’s understand it with the help of example. Suppose in the question an Acute Angle is given and length of one side is also given then,

We will start it with angles.

As <A= 36º

And as shown in the figure< C= 90 º than we can easily find out < B which will be 54 º.

Now, as according to the steps let’s make the unknown side as numerator and make the known side as denominator of fraction,

i.e. Unknown/ known = a/ 10

Now, as per step second name the function of angle,

Unknown/ known= 1/ 10= sin 36 º

Now, as per step 3 use the trigonometric table to evaluate that function,

Unknown / known= a/ 10= sin 36 º= .588

Now, solve the unknown side= a= 10x .588= 5.88 cm.

In this way, you can easily approach this type of questions.
