# How to Find the Height of a Parallelogram?

TopParallelogram is a type of quadrilateral which has two pairs of parallel sides. In a parallelogram, the opposite sides or facing side length are equal. And opposite side angle of a Parallelogram are of equal length. It has two pairs of a parallel side in a geometric figure. It is special type of a quadrilateral. Opposite sides and opposite angles are equal in length. Some of the properties of a parallelogram are:

Area – the area of a parallelogram is given by,

Area = b * h,

Where ‘b’ is base of a parallelogram and ‘h’ is the height of a parallelogram. Now we will see how to find the height of a parallelogram?

For finding the height of a parallelogram we have to follow some of the steps:

Step 1: First we have to find the area of parallelogram.

Step 2: After than we have to find the base of a parallelogram.

Step 3: When we know that area and base of a parallelogram then we can easily find out the height of a parallelogram.

Let’s see how to find the height of a parallelogram with the help of example:

Example: - The area of a parallelogram is 20 Square inch and the base of a parallelogram is 8 inch, than find the height of a parallelogram?

Solution: - We know that the area of parallelogram is:

Area = b * h,

Where ‘b’ is the base of a parallelogram;

And ‘h’ is the height of a parallelogram.

Given, area = 20 inch2,

Base = 8 inch,

Then, Area = b * h.

Putting all the values in the given formula:

On putting the values in the formula we get

Area = b * h,

20 inch2 = (8 inch) * h,

H = $\frac{20}{8}$,

H = 2.5 inch,

The height of a parallelogram is = 2.5 inch.
