# How to Arrange Fractions with Different Denominators in Increasing Order?

TopFractions are part of whole Numbers. Fractions can be of different types. Some of the common types of fraction numbers are Proper Fractions, Improper fractions, Vulgar Fractions, Decimal fractions, like fractions, unlike fractions and unit fractions.
In case fraction numbers are like fractions, we Mean that denominators of the fractions are same. In order to arrange such fractions in ascending order, we will simply check the numerators. Smaller numerator represents smaller fraction number.

Now we will consider the fraction numbers with different denominators. Such fractions are called as improper fraction numbers. Let’s learn how to arrange fractions with different denominators in increasing order. For this we will first pick all denominators and find their LCM. Further we will convert the given fractions in form of like fraction numbers such that denominator converts in its like fraction with the denominator equal to LCM of all denominators. Now what we observe is that all denominators are now equal. So we will observe that fractions have been converted to like fractions.

Now simply fractions can be arranged in ascending order, based on the value of numerators of fractions. Smaller numerator represents the smaller fraction number. Once data is arranged in ascending order, we can replace the Equivalent Fractions with original fraction numbers so that original fractions are arranged in ascending order. Next we will put sign of “<”, which will help us to know that previous written fraction number is smaller than next written fraction number. It also indicates that first fraction in series is the smallest fraction number and last written fraction is the greatest of all the given fractions.
